Instagram Brings New Focus Mode to Stories

Instagram on Tuesday announced the launch of two brand-new functions on the social networking platform internationally. The first upgrade is a brand-new video camera format on Instagram Stories called Focus that lets users take picture shots with Bokeh effect from their phone’s rear or front electronic camera. “When you take an image or video of someone in the Focus format, their face will stay focused while the background blurs, giving the picture that polished look – something you’ll wish to share with friends,” says Instagram in a statement.

To use the function, open the Stories tab on the Instagram app. You will see the new Focus button put next to Superzoom in the Record tab. Focus will be available on Apple iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, and select Android handsets (2015 and later on).

Another function that is pertaining to the Instagram app today is the @mention sticker, offered at first only on iOS. While handle points out have actually belonged to Instagram Stories for a while now, Instagram is now rolling out the brand-new @mention sticker label. To use the feature, open the sticker labels tray after you take a picture or record a video, tap the @mention sticker label, and begin typing the name of the account you wish to mention and choose from the alternatives that appear. The sticker label will then be developed which you can resize and position on any part of the image or video.
